22/09/2023

Semiconductor Intelligence predicts that Nvidia is poised to take the top spot for semiconductor revenue this year, with an estimated revenue of approximately $52.9 billion, surpassing Intel's estimated revenue of $51.6 billion in 2023.

Nvidia's 2023 revenue is expected to increase by nearly two times as compared to its 2022 revenue, thanks to its robust AI processors. Intel has held the position of the leading semiconductor company for the majority of the past twenty-one years, with the exception of 2017, 2018, and 2021, during which Samsung emerged as the top player.

In 2023, although the semiconductor industry and startup companies are moving at a rapid pace, the top ten companies that have managed to maintain their positions in the industry for at least 30 years.

At 30 years old, Nvidia is the youngest company on the list. Number four on the list is Broadcom Inc., which came into being after Avago Technologies acquired Broadcom in 2015. However, the original Broadcom was founded 32 years ago. Avago was spun off from Hewlett-Packard, which has been in the semiconductor business for 52 years.
