Surface-mount reed relays

Pickering Electronics, a UK-based manufacturer of high-quality reed relays, has announced the launch of its new series of surface-mount reed relays at the upcoming Productronica exhibition in Munich. The company's new Series 219 reed relays are capable of effortlessly switching up to 1kV, making them the only surface-mount high-voltage relays currently available in the market in 2 Form A and 1 Form B packages.

One of the key features of these relays is their impressive stand-off capability. The 1 Form A package can withstand up to 3kV, the 1 Form B package can withstand up to 2kV, and the 2 Form A package can withstand up to 1.5kV. The switch-to-coil isolation is also excellent, at 5kV stand-off in both the 1 Form A and 1 Form B types.

The relays are rated for switching up to 0.7A or 10W, and can operate within a temperature range of -40 to +105°C. They're available in three different coil choices: 3V, 5V, or 12V, and measure 17.2 x 10.5 (plus leads) x 8.5mm high.

The Series 219 reed relays are suitable for a wide range of applications, including testers for mixed-signal semiconductors, medical equipment, electric vehicle charge points, and monitoring solar cell photovoltaic efficiency.

If you're interested in seeing these exciting new relays in person, be sure to stop by booth 452 in Hall A1 at Productronica, which will be held at the Messe München from November 14 to 17. The exhibition will be sharing space with Semicon Europa, so there will be plenty of other innovative products and technologies on display as well.
